More Controversy as Forensic Psychologist Resigns in Yoon's Campaign Team

This was due to remarks done by Yoon Suk-yeol's wife to a sexual assault victim on the broadcast.

Following an apology to a victim of the #MeToo scandal for remarks made by presidential candidate Yoon Suk-wife yeol's Kim Keon-hee about the matter, Lee Soo-Jung, a criminal psychology professor at Kyonggi University, resigned from his position as an advisor to the main opposition People Power Party's election campaign.

She told a local media source that apologizing to the victim Kim Ji-Eun "was my conscience," and that she had quit in advance since her position conflicted with the (party's) policy of appealing to young males, which she described as "unacceptable." She expressed concern that it "might become a source of irritation."

Kim expressed sympathy for Ahn Hee-Jung in a phone conversation recorded by MBC's investigative news program "Straight," which was broadcast on Sunday. Kim also stated that she and her husband are "on Ahn Hee Jung's side" according to the recording. She also stated that the #MeToo crises emerged as a result of the accused's refusal to compensate the victims.

Ahn Hee-Jung, a former star politician in South Korea, has been accused of sexual misconduct with his assistant, Kim Ji-Eun. Despite the Supreme Court's decision, the lower court's decision to sentence Ahn to three and a half years in jail, starting in September 2020, stood up.

Prof. Lee expressed his regrets on Facebook on Tuesday, writing, "I convey my genuine concern for the mental anguish that the audio transcript may have caused Kim Ji-Eun, the victim of the Ahn Hee-Jung incident, in my heartfelt apology."

Lee stated that she would not withdraw her support for candidate Yoon and that she remained hopeful that he would bring about a change in the system. In addition, she stated, "I will continue to consult on policy."

Following Professor Lee's resignation, the party's young male followers continued to voice their objections, which was regarded as a result of Professor Lee's choice to resign.

Shin Ji-ye, a female lawmaker who briefly joined the campaign of Yoon Suk-yeol, expressed her displeasure with Kim Keon-words hee's that she "felt sorry for Ahn" because of his prison sentence. "It is not an issue to be disregarded as a private chat," she stated.

Shin wrote on her Facebook page on Tuesday that Kim Ji-Eun, "despite getting a court verdict, is suffering from secondary victimization and has yet to regain her daily life as a result of humiliation and intimidation." Kim Ji-Eun has yet to recover her daily life, according to Shin.

Earlier that day, Kim Ji-Eun demanded that Kim Keon-hee apologizes for her #MeToo remarks, which had been broadcast on MBC.

It was Kim Keon-attitude hee's that I noticed, which was caustic and (suggesting) a conspiracy theory in a case that had already been found guilty in court." "I also overheard statements that were disparaging of the #MeToo movement, which contained the cries of victims," Kim said on Monday in an interview. "I respectfully request Kim Keon-sincere hee's apologies."

"I don't have anything else to say," candidate Yoon said in response to the issue.
