The 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards, hosted by JaeJae, STAYC's Sieun, and NCT's Doyoung, took place on January 27 at the Jamsil Arena.
The Gaon Chart Music Awards are determined mostly by the commercial success of songs and albums as measured by the Gaon Music Chart. Artist of the Year is split into two categories: digital music and physical albums. Each month from December 2020 to November 2021, the digital music awards were granted to the song with the most digital downloads and streaming. The physical album awards were granted to the albums that sold the most copies in each quarter over the same time period.
