'All of Us Are Dead' Cast Talks About The Series and Casting in Cosmopolitan Korea February 2022 Issue

Check out the photoshoot and interview with the cast below!

In the most recent issue of Cosmopolitan Korea, the cast of "All of Us Are Dead" is featured!

"All of Us Are Dead," a Netflix original series, follows a group of kids who are waiting to be rescued following a zombie outbreak at their school. The show climbed to the top of the Netflix charts in 25 countries within a day of its official release on January 28.

Park Ji Hu, Yoon Chan Young, Cho Yi Hyun, Lomon, and Lee Yoo Mi are among the primary cast members in the photo. They discussed their auditions, personas, global success, and more in the accompanying interview!

"Honestly, the director sent me a message yesterday," Park Ji Hu continued. He gave me a beautiful note in which he said I attracted his attention because I reminded him of a child that was brilliant, bold, and like an ocean that didn't get wet in the rain. I was deeply moved. 'But you're not a kid anymore,' he added, 'I turned 20 years old [by Korean reckoning] this year."

"Ah!" said Yoo Chan Young. To me, he stated the same thing! "He wrote 'Don't get drenched from rain' before we started the project," he continued. I wrote 'Carpe Diem' on a note for myself, and it became my phone wallpaper."

"During a meeting, [the director] asked what type of genre I wanted to do," Cho Yi Hyun explained. I generally did roles where I lost a lot of blood, sweat, and tears before filming 'Hospital Playlist,' so I said, 'I want to do something quiet.' 'What do we do?' he said, 'I want to end with the blood, sweat, and tears.' "Fortunately, I enjoy zombie projects." She went on to say, "This is a zombie project." If I'm going to bleed blood in an unclear manner, I might as well do so quickly. It's also cool to cry your eyes out."

The cast also mentioned that the fast zombies in Korean zombie stories are what they believe attracts a global audience. "Even if we didn't have action moments where we were battling with the zombies, we required a lot of stamina simply to run away from them," Cho Yi Hyun revealed, adding, "Even if we didn't have action scenes where we were fighting with the zombies, we needed a lot of stamina just to run away from them."

"While filming 'All of Us Are Dead,' I walked by the school I used to attend and immediately thought, 'Wow... how would I survive if a zombie came out here?'" Yoo Chan Young said when questioned about the film's distinct charm. 'All of Us Are Dead,' on the other hand, is a drama that portrays that circumstance. Doesn't that sound like a good time? ”

"More than anything, there's drama in 'All of Us Are Dead.' In addition to the zombies, it draws out the friendship and love relationships among pals," Lomon continued.

The performers revealed some discrepancies between the two works because the drama is based on a webtoon that was first published 13 years ago. "We tried pretty hard to act like modern Korean high school kids," Lomon explained. The culture of high school students has changed since the webtoon was created 13 years ago. We incorporated a lot of improvised scenes that would be appropriate for today's Korean high school students."

After garnering so much praise for her part as the charming Ji Young in "Squid Game," Lee Yoo Mi portrays the harsh and unpleasant role of Na Yeon in the middle of a critical circumstance when all the students must work together.

"Na Yeon is someone who is truly devoted to the feelings she feels," Lee Yoo Mi stated why she still can't despise her. On the other hand, because she's the most humanitarian, if you think about it again, you'll see that there are components of why Na Yeon acted the way she did."

"Although Na Yeon's personality is a little strange, she doesn't say anything that isn't truthful," Yoo Chan Young added. You need someone like that in real life."

"She has no choice but to be in a hurry because she has to survive," Lee Yoo Mi joked, defending Na Yeon's mentality. Her urge to live had simply taken on a new form. Because she is human, Na Yeon does the best she can. That is why I believe people are sympathetic to her. If she's genuinely cruel, does that indicate I did a good job acting? If I get hate, I'll assume I did something wrong, regardless matter how much hate I get. It's good to convey hate, and it's fine to offer pity."

Given the drama's worldwide fame, the cast was asked which celebrity they hoped would notice them. Lee Yoo Mi noted that she was particularly delighted to acquire a follow from actress Chun Woo Hee because her social media following had already skyrocketed as a result of "Squid Game."

Timothée Chalamet was chosen by Park Ji Hu, while Zendaya was chosen by Cho Yi Hyun. "Once, [soccer player] Dele Alli put a scene from 'Squid Game' with Lee Yoo Mi onto his social media," Yoo Chan Young said of Son Heung Min. You have no clue how envious I was." Finally, Lomon expressed his desire to be good friends with rapper Drake and to be followed by Lee Byung Hun.

"We had already become close before filming began," Cho Yi Hyun said of the mood on site. We gathered frequently in the director's office for meetings, but he also provided many opportunities for us to bond by encouraging us to play games and hang out together without looking at the script. We also went to action school together for a few months and then went out to eat and hang out at cafes when we were finished. As a consequence, we were able to discuss a variety of topics related to acting and demonstrate good synergy."
