The lyrics to (G)I-DLE's "Liar" have generated allegations that Soyeon dated rapper Changmo.
Soyeon's rap lyrics for "Liar," from (G)I-newly DLE's released debut full-length album 'I Never Die,' made headlines on March 15. She is rumored to have created the rap's lyrics herself. "I followed you, but your mother said she didn't like it. Tell her that I didn't like it either," "You tell me to mind my own business. Look at that attitude," "Say it to my face, not behind my back, even though you're not even here," and "Before treating your next lover like a baby, get your spelling right first, kid (aiya)."
The lines "Get your spelling straight first, kid (aiya)," according to some netizens, are intended to Changmo, who was chastised for a misspelling on social media in April 2021. Changmo's second full album includes a song called "Aiya."
"It'd be fantastic if they dated," "The lyrics are obviously targeting Changmo," "Does Changmo know about this," "Soyeon and Changmo? They don't go together at all," and more were among the comments made by internet users.
In other news, Changmo has enlisted in the miltary on March 10th after receiving 4 awards including 'Artist of the Year' in the recently-concluded 'Korean Hip Hop Awards'. Meanwhile, Soyeon is busy with (G)I-DLE's recent comeback with 'TOMBOY.'
