It was announced yesterday that Red Velvet's Joy and singer-songwriter Crush are dating for a year now, with both agencies confirming the news. Joy and Crush have also personally addressed the news themselves, with Joy posting on her Lysn account and Crush posting on his official fancafe.
Surprisingly, everyone seems very positive when the news broke out. Many fans and netizens have expressed their happiness -- no pun intended -- upon learning the new entertainment couple. Some people have said that it is normal for idols to date as they are humans, too. Others have said that comparing this to Bobby's announcement of him being a father, this is much tamer and as long as they are happy, then the fans are also happy.
Usually, idol fans would be upset at the very least whenever dating news such as these make into the headlines. Nowadays, people have become more accepting and positive towards dating news, which shows how the Korean netizens and international fans have grown maturely about the issue.
Prior to them, the latest couple who have received mostly positive reviews from the people is the Dawn and HyunA couple, with fans expressing their disappointment at Cube Entertainment for kicking Dawn out of Pentagon and HyunA out of the agency when this news broke out.
We are hoping that many people would become more supportive of the idols dating, getting married, or setting up their own families.
