"Squid Game" is quickly becoming one of Netflix's most popular shows.
"It's likely that squid games will be the greatest non-English-speaking drama ever," Netflix Chief Executive Officer Ted Sarandas said on May 27 (local time) at the Code conference in Los Angeles, according to Cnet USA.
Sarandos "squid game" celebration in Surlandos didn't end there.
"It's also quite probable that squid games will be the most hit drama of all time (together with non-English-speaking dramas)," he adds.
"Squid Game" is a Netflix series about a survival game in which a 45.6 billion won prize-winning survival game player confronts a game that took could take their lives just to become the final winner. It was recently opened and has gained fame not just in Korea but also across the world.
Sarandos did not specify the nature of the "Squid Game" or the extent to which it was played.
Netflix generally measures performance based on how many people viewed at least two minutes of a video within the first 28 days of its release.
"Squid Game" was launched on the 17th and has already been screened for a little more than ten days.
The French drama Lupin is now the most popular non-English-speaking series. If Netflix's criteria are used, "squid game" will just barely beat over Lupin's hits record.
It isn't just that. According to Seanet, "Squid Game" will outperform "Bridgerton," the largest success published in 2020.
