To safeguard Shin Se Kyung from hateful postings, EDAM Entertainment has initiated legal action.
The following statement was issued by the agency on November 3:
Hello, and welcome to EDAM Entertainment.
We are aware that nasty posts regarding our actress Shin Se Kyung have been circulated for a long time on numerous online groups and social media platforms. Furthermore, we have lately established that derogatory comments against her have been made in a number of Daum cafés.
We have decided to take aggressive legal action against harmful remarks against her, including the propagation of lies, defamation of character, personal assaults, invasion of privacy, and sexual harassment, since we believe the associated posts may discredit the actress.
We finished the first gathering of evidence based on internally obtained data through our own monitoring and filed a complaint through a legal company, and an investigation is presently underway to identify those who are posting harmful posts.
We underscore that we will do all possible to safeguard our actors' rights and interests in order to avoid additional harm, and that we will respond more forcefully without any leniency or settlement.
Finally, we would like to offer our heartfelt appreciation to the fans for their tremendous support and affection for our actress Shin Se Kyung, and we will do our best to listen to even the tiniest of your ideas. Thank you very much.
Shin Sekyung's last project was Run On, with Im Siwan, Kang Tae-oh, and Choi Sooyoung. She transferred to EDAM Entertainment following her contract's expiration from Namoo Actors.
