BTS’ V Becomes The 1st Korean Soloist to Debut at No.1 On Billboard’s Digital Song Sales

Congratulations to V for setting a new record!

V from BTS has recently broken multiple Billboard records with his latest song!

V's "Christmas Tree," which was published as part of the soundtrack for Choi Woo Shik's upcoming drama "Our Beloved Summer," debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart on January 4 local time (its weekly ranking of the best-selling songs in the United States).

V has been the first Korean solo artist to have a solo song debut at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, and "Christmas Tree" has also become the first Korean OST song to top the chart.

Only two other Korean soloist tracks have ever charted at No. 1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart. V's bandmate Suga made history last month by being the first Korean solo artist to debut a single at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it was a collaboration (his and Juice WRLD's "Girl of My Dreams"). Apart from "Christmas Tree," PSY's 2012 smash single "Gangnam Style" is the first Korean solo song to ever top the charts, but it did not debut at No. 1.

V became the third BTS member (after J-Hope and Suga) to chart a solo single on the Hot 100 with "Christmas Tree," which debuted at No. 79 on the chart. This week, "Christmas Tree" was also the best-selling song in the United States.
