SMTOWN Winter Album Sets Records for Highest Sales of Seasonal K-Pop Projects

This winter album from S.M. Entertainment, which has been out of production for 10 years, has made a successful comeback and has achieved the highest sales of any seasonal project released by the K-pop powerhouse.

Since the release of "2011 Winter SMTown: The Warmest Gift," the star-studded album from SMTOWN — which refers to the collective of artists affiliated with S.M. — has been the first special winter release.

Some of the most well-known K-pop artists signed to the label appeared on the album, including BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation-Oh!GG, Onew, Minho, and Key from SHINee, Kai from Exo, Red Velvet, NCT units, and Aespa.

The 10-song album includes not only songs from each of the groups but also some new collaborations between the groups.

S.M. conducted a multi-content project to promote the album, held a media art event on Thursday, and hosted a free online concert on Saturday to further promote the album.

A virtual world called SMCU, which stands for "S.M. Culture Universe," is a storyline that connects all S.M. artists through a single storyline.
