Rapper Dok2 Files Appeal Against Court Ruling To Pay Unpaid L.A Jeweler

The lawsuit was filed way back in 2020.

Dok2, a South Korean rapper, has filed an appeal against a court order requiring him to pay an unpaid bill to a jeweler in Los Angeles, according to court officials.

The Seoul Southern District Court ordered the 31-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Lee Joon-kyung, to pay 41.2 million won ($34,740) plus interest on the unpaid debt last month.

In September 2020, the jeweler filed a lawsuit against Dok2, alleging that the rapper did not pay the full amount when he bought seven pieces of jewelry for $206,000 in 2018.

In October 2019, the jeweler launched a lawsuit against Illionaire Records, a local record label co-founded by Dok2, but it was dismissed because the court did not hold the hip-hop company liable for the rapper's debt.

Dok2 left Illionaire Records in February 2020 after stepping down as the label's CEO in November 2019.

Dok2 signed with Last Kings Records, a company founded by American rapper Tyga, last year, and stated that he intends to release music in the United States.

Meanwhile, Dok2 has earlier hinted on his comeback in the South Korean entertainment by announcing his participation in Yng Rich Records’ new hip hop survival show “Drop The Bit” as a special judge.
