On January 8, the 36th Golden Disc Awards was held in the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
In past years, the Golden Disc Awards were held over two days, with the categories of Album and Digital Song being separated. To meet with social distance requirements, the entire ceremony was held on one day this year. The performances were pre-recorded and there was no audience.
BTS won Album of the Year (Disc Daesang) for the sixth year in a row, while IU won Digital Song of the Year (Digital Daesang) for the second year in a row.
