"Single's Inferno," a reality dating show on Netflix, follows 12 handsome men and women as they attempt to leave a deserted island by forming a relationship.
As shown in the Korean drama, the island is an "inferno" from which only successfully-matched couples can be heliport out to "paradise," a lavish hotel on the other side. Although the location itself was not particularly interesting, its natural beauty piqued the interest of international spectators.
It is Saseungbongdo, an uninhabited island off the west coast of South Korea, not far from the capital Seoul, and it is the setting for our story.
Despite its rapid popularity, the island, which is privately owned, is now inaccessible due to the fact that the fishing boats, which are the only mode of transportation to the island, do not sail during the winter.
According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the small lonely island, which has a total land area of 168,910 square meters, was formally designated as one of the country's deserted islands subject to rigorous environmental preservation in August 2018.
Visitor boats depart from a wharf in Seungbongdo, which is located approximately 2.2 kilometers away from the desert island off the coast of Incheon, to transport them to Saseungbongdo. Seungbongdo has a population of approximately 200 people.
Known for its beautiful, dazzling water and large sand field that is bordered by lush forest, the secret island has quickly become a popular destination for outdoor camping enthusiasts and travelers. On the northern coast, grass fields make for an excellent location for setting up tents or tables for cooking. Those who enjoy sunbathing are drawn to the sandy meadows that extend out along the coast.
Additionally, taking in the sunset and dazzling stars in the night sky from a quiet and peaceful island provides unforgettable experiences to take back home with you.
