Rotten Tomatoes has awarded 'Hellbound' as the Best Horror Series of 2021 at the recent Golden Tomato Awards!
'Hellbound' is a Netflix original series that tells the story of a supernatural event in which people are sentenced to hell by hell's messengers who appear out of nowhere, as well as the religious organization Saejinrihoe, which was resurrected in the midst of the chaos, and those trying to figure out what happened.
The Golden Tomato Awards are hosted by Rotten Tomatoes, a global movie review service that selects and announces the greatest films and series each year. 'Hellbound' retained a Rotten Tomatoes freshness index of 97 percent two months after its debut, earning the highest score and placing first in the horror series in 2021. 'Evil: Season 2' from Paramount Plus came in second, followed by 'Calls' from Apple TV in third, Netflix's 'Mass in the Darkness' in fourth, and horror classic 'Chucky' in fifth. "'Hellbound,' developed by filmmaker Yeon Sang-devilish ho's imagination, is a fantastic concept that truly probes the essence of human beings," Rotten Tomatoes remarked of the film.
'Hellbound,' which won first place in the Golden Tomato Best Horror Series award, was immediately included to the Netflix TOP 10 list in 71 countries, including Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Jamaica, and Nigeria, for its freshness and creativity. It received 43.48 million views in just three days, placing it first in the global TOP10 TV (non-English) category. Furthermore, it was invited to the world's most prestigious film festivals before its release, including the Toronto International Film Festival, the BFI London Film Festival, and the Busan International Film Festival, where it was praised for its craftsmanship.
