'Knowing Bros' ("Ask Us Anything") producers have provided an explanation for their choice not to edit Song Ji A out of the show's most recent episode, which aired last week.
'Single's Inferno' star Song Ji A, a YouTuber and social media influencer who sprang to fame after appearing on the Netflix dating reality series has come under fire for wearing phony designer clothing and jewelry on both "Single's Inferno" and her social media accounts. A handwritten note that Song Ji A shared on Instagram eventually served as an apology for her decision to wear counterfeit merchandise.
MBC's "The Manager" has declared that they would no longer be displaying video of Song Ji A on their next January 29 episode, which was originally slated to feature her as a guest. This is in reaction to the controversy surrounding the show.
However, during its January 23 broadcast, "Knowing Bros" decided to air a video of Song Ji A, despite the fact that the influencer had been edited out of the show.
When several viewers voiced dissatisfaction with the show's decision, the producers of "Knowing Bros" explained that it would have been difficult to remove all of Song Ji A's screen time if the show had not been canceled.
"Because of the issue surrounding Song Ji A, which erupted just before the broadcast, it was unavoidable that we had to air [her footage]," the producers explained further. It was important to us that our footage of Lee Young Ji, who appeared with her as a guest, not be edited out, and that we did not cause [Lee Young Ji] any harm.
"As a result of these kinds of considerations, we edited and aired a portion of our film, and we took out as much of Song Ji A's footage as we could without interfering with the flow of the program itself," the producer continued.
