Yoon Chan Young talked about his experience working on "All Of Us Are Dead," his ideal type, and more in a recent interview!
The Netflix series "All of Us Are Dead" tells the story of a group of kids who are waiting for help after their school is infected with a zombie virus. The show soared to the top of Netflix's charts in 25 countries within a day of its official release on January 28.
Cheong San, a calm student who has known On Jo (Park Ji Hu) for a long time and does everything he can to save his friends, was played by Yoon Chan Young in the drama.
"I still can't believe it," Yoon Chan Young expressed his gratitude to the viewers. I'm glad I was a part of something that was enjoyed by a large number of people. I'm really grateful, and each day appears to be a new experience for me. I was able to try something new, and I'm reminded of all the wonderful times I had on set."
He also talked about how he came to be a part of the drama's cast. I felt as if I was in a film. " I was going through a difficult period while studying for university admission examinations. I didn't think I was good enough, but I wanted to be the best I could be, so I practiced nonstop. I applied for a couple institutions' early admissions, but the results were mixed. I was disappointed and blamed myself, but I got back up and practiced again. I heard about the audition for 'All of Us Are Dead' when this was going on and felt it would be a perfect opportunity to put myself to the test. After hearing other performers say that I get along well with actors my age, the director wanted to see me. 'I think they were correct,' the director stated after 30 minutes of auditioning, and I was pleased when I got the call two months later. It was also a very important year for me because I was accepted to Hanyang University."
This is Yoon Chan Young's in-depth study of his character, which he shared. "I believe Lee Cheong San is a righteous student who has his own set of beliefs and thoughts. Because of these characteristics, I believe he was able to make quick decisions in challenging situations. I tried to remember at all times that Cheong San puts On Jo's life ahead of his own."
"I watched 'La La Land' before starting high school, and I thought the film was very lovely," Yoon Chan Young said when asked if he had ever had a crush on someone. I had no idea what love felt like at the time, but I still thought the film was lovely and heartbreaking. I thought I wanted to have that kind of love, but after I started high school, I spent all of my time studying and practicing. It wasn't that I didn't enjoy dating, but I was enamored with the art of acting. I assume I had a life like any other arts student in a theater class because I went to an arts school."
"I can't really identify what an ideal type is," he said of his hypothetical ideal type. Films like 'La La Land' taught me a lot about love, so I guess my ideal type would be someone with whom I instantly sense a connection from the moment I meet them."a
Yoon Chan Young also expressed his feelings over Park Ji Hu's graduation from Hanyang University. To the point where you'd want to join the university, I talked a lot about it. Hanyoung University's theater and film majors don't merely practice acting on stage. It's about gaining a better understanding of the various aspects of theatre and movies. I heard about it from other university seniors, and I believe it was because of this that I became interested in Hanyang University. Greeting Park Ji Hu as my junior is a pleasure for me and I wish to congratulate her."
The play deals with crucial issues such as society's irresponsible adults. "There's a reason why a student is a student," the actor said of his feelings on the subject. A student is still studying and preparing for a range of conditions in society, and he or she is still learning. We can learn a lot from our friends, but I believe that we also need adults to assist us in becoming responsible adults in the future. I believe that an irresponsible adult is one who does not regard the viewpoints of pupils and is not considerate or understanding. I think it's fantastic to give helpful counsel, but it's easy to become condescending when people start saying things they don't want to hear. I’m an adult now as well, and I constantly think about what makes someone a responsible adult.”
On set, Yoon Chan Young shared some of his favorite memories with the cast mates. "We're not only castmates, but also excellent friends." We talked about various scenarios and had a lot of respect for each other. When they said they valued the way I conduct myself on set, that struck me deeply."
When asked about the drama's ending and whether or not Cheong San died, the actor remarked, "In a recent interview, I was asked whether or not Cheong San had died. To be honest, I have no idea. Nothing has been decided yet, and I haven't heard anything about what will happen next. I'd like to live if I could. What I want to do is say things that I didn't get to speak before."
Finally, Yoon Chan Young spoke about his development as an actor and his plans for the future. "I've always learnt a lot from my mistakes, but I think I became more responsible and learned from the pressure after working on a huge role." I'm grateful for this opportunity, and I've tried to take as much as I can out from it. In terms of my dreams, I believe they are distinct from my goals. My dream is to work as an actress. It's incredible to think that so many people around the world have viewed something that I'm a part of. My desire is to work with the director of 'La La Land.' Thinking that the filmmaker might have seen it as well makes me so happy. I’m so thankful for each day, and it feels like a gift. This year, I want to show people who I am as a person. There’s a lot that I want to show. I’m so happy that people are also interested in the real me. Please look forward to this.”
