Yoo In Soo discussed his experience working on "All Of Us Are Dead," his acting problems, and more in a recent interview.
Yoo In Soo made his acting debut in the blockbuster drama "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" in 2017, and has since been in films such as "School 2017," "Life," "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty," "Moments of 18," and most recently, "At a Distance, Spring Is Green."
"It's incredibly fun to act like this now, but there's also a part of me that feels uncomfortable," he said, explaining how he believes he needs to prepare due to his reservations about his abilities. I'm not a trained actor, and I've only studied it by working as a background actor on film sets and watching the performers perform. As a result, there are certainly more occasions when I am unsure or uncomfortable about my acting than when I am confident."
Yoo In Soo portrays Yoon Gwi Nam, the show's antagonist, in "All Of Us Are Dead." He is well-known for being a school bully, yet he constantly feels that he comes in second to someone else in the group. In order to survive, he does not hesitate to utilize others, and he becomes a greater threat than the zombies.
When asked about his position in the show, the actor stated that he had not expected to be cast as that particular character. "I thought he was an interesting character when I read the webtoon," he remarked, "but I never anticipated I would portray him." "The actor who plays Gwi Nam will be under a lot of strain," I reasoned, "so when I was cast as [Gwi Nam], I was both surprised and scared."
"I always remembered how [director Lee Jae Kyu] urged me not to just portray Gwi Nam as a dream villain, and also not to forget the fact that he is a student and a person," he said. If I depicted him as a basic villain, he would become a stereotypical and superficial figure. It's not that an ordinary person suddenly obtains a lot of power and uses it violently because he can't control it, but rather because he enjoys it, and I wanted to depict the process of becoming a monster through the eyes of a third party."
When asked to name his favorite scene, Yoo In Soo said, "The part where I walk out after becoming a zombie." He said, "It's not because I thought 'I did well' after I finished filming the scene, but because I truly experienced chills in the moment when I was performing." So I'm quite devoted to that scene, and I'm happy because others around me said I did a good job expressing it in the play, and it turned out well."
"I've got a lot of confidence in my acting after this project," Yoo In Soo remarked of the show, adding, "I've earned a lot of confidence in my acting after this project." Some of the things I've been contemplating and doubting seem to have been settled."
He also discussed how he plans to apply the sentiments and lessons he's gained from the show to his acting career in the future. "'All Of Us Are Dead' was challenging owing to the pressure, but I had a lot of fun filming it, and I think [my acting] was conveyed well as a consequence," he remarked. "So I'm thinking I should keep acting as a hobby." 'One day is enough, so let's live without creating excuses,' I scribbled on my phone, and I'm attempting to stick to it. Through the future, I want to showcase my true personality in a variety of productions. I want to be recognized as a person and an actor who put in long hours every day."
