The enlistment date for A.C.E's Byeongkwan has been confirmed.
Top Star News announced on February 17 that Kim Byeongkwan would be joining on April 11 to serve in the Korean Augmentation Troops to the United States Army, or KATUSA.
A.C.E's official Twitter account verified the news by posting the story following the reports. A spokesperson from the group’s agency BEAT Interactive also confirmed, “It’s true that Kim Byeongkwan will join in KATUSA on April 11.”
This puts Kim Byeongkwan the second K-pop idol to join the respected branch, following DAY6's Young K, who is presently serving in KATUSA. This is a branch of the military that requires applicants to have a high level of English fluency.
"After seeing that Young Hyun hyung [Young K's birth name] was admitted into KATUSA, I asked him," Byeongkwan said during a V Live show earlier this month. He stated that he applied based on his TOEIC speaking score, so I took the test as well and was accepted. Hyun hyung, a young man, provided me a lot of advice."
Wow and Donghun enlisted in September 2021, while Jun enlisted earlier this month, making Kim Byeongkwan the fourth member of A.C.E to join the military.
