As reported by Big Hit Music Wednesday, the members of K-pop boy duo Tomorrow X Together (TXT), Yeonjun, and Taehyun, appeared as featured musicians on Salem Ilese's new single "PS5", which was released earlier this month.
Produced by famed DJ Alan Walker, "PS5" is a love song that deals with the dilemma of deciding between spending time with a lover and playing a video game. Two TXT members sing throughout the song in a rhythmic manner, "(Let me play the game) two more minutes, and I'll receive a trophy," according to the lyrics.
"PS5" is the second cooperation between TXT and Ilese, following the release of "PS4". This past year, the US pop singer-songwriter collaborated with the K-pop group to write the music "Anti-Romantic," which became a viral hit and was included on the group's second studio album, "The Chaos Chapter: Freeze."
They also posted a short-form video of themselves singing "Anti-Romantic" to TikTok, which may be seen here.
Ilese came up with the idea for the latest partnership, which resulted in it.
While "PS5" was officially released on online music streaming platforms at midnight on Wednesday, Ilese had hinted on Twitter two days before that the song contains Yeonjun and Taehyun as well as other artists.
Fans were encouraged to sing along to the video in a duet with their own verse, which Ilese had previously published on TikTok as part of an "open verse" competition for "PS5" Taehyun took part in the challenge by singing some of the songs from his album "PS5".
