Check out Song Kang's interview and photoshoot below!

Song Kang recently chatted with GQ Korea about his career growth, his quiet attitude, his approach to goal-setting, and more!

"I've spent the past six or seven months with weather, and it's hard," the actor said of his current play "Forecasting Love and Weather." "I assumed we'd just say, 'It's clear,' or 'It's pouring,' but weather has a lot of vocabulary and jargon."

When the interviewer was asked to characterize Song Kang in terms of weather, he said he was like a comet, meaning he emerged out of nowhere. "Wow, thank you," Song Kang said. But I'm not sure that's the correct expression. People in my immediate vicinity say a lot of stuff like that, but I believe I've come a long way. 'Why did I fail all of my auditions?' I used to wonder. 'As a result, I'm always reading newspapers.' But I also like it when people say things like that. "It's far too good to be true."

"It seems like everyone practices like that," he added, expanding on the newspaper example. So I decided I'd give it a shot as well. I'd record myself reading a full newspaper over the course of a week."

Song Kang also expressed his dissatisfaction with his early career because he didn't comprehend the vocabulary utilized on set. Song Kang stated that he made an effort to become familiar with those terms in order to overcome this. "Even when I wasn't filming, I'd go on set and watch," he revealed. When I was filming 'The Liar and His Lover,' I'd go with my manager to see how they were filming. I was watching from afar at first, but then the director called me over and said, 'You can't just observe from over there; you have to see how they act on the monitor,' which I also discovered at the time. I believe I simply confronted everything head-on, no matter what. Although I still didn’t know many things, I did become more familiar [with how things worked].”

Song Kang was asked if he looked more like his characters in "Navillera" or "Sweet Home" than his roles in "Nevertheless" and "Love Alarm," to which he replied, "Really?" In my head, I always have a lot to say, but I'm always anxious about how to say it. That's why, when I'm arguing with someone, they may talk a lot while I can't say much. I have a lot to say inside of me a lot of the time, but I don't know how to say it, so I just stay still."

Song Kang went on to say that he prefers to avoid conflict at all costs, saying, "I just leave things as they flow." I prefer to go with the flow. But I like it that way. Even if I am stressed, I quickly forget about it. I also forget all the hurtful words. It's the same with compliments that were pleasant to hear. However, I am well aware of the importance of advise. I'm the type who just lets good or bad words pass me by."

Song Kang has mentioned in numerous interviews how much he enjoys scribbling short notes. He said that these days he keeps a journal of amazing encounters he's had. "Stuff like, 'My feelings were so intriguing," the actor said. My hands and body were shaking from a certain point on when I was recording an angry scene.' I began to believe that I was experiencing a lot of emotions when acting that I hadn't experienced in my normal life. Because if it's in the script, I have to do it even if I don't want to. As I continue to do so, I experience unique feelings in my everyday life. It's not the same as merely acting. My mouth quivers, and my hands and feet start to tremble… I write stuff like this down. With the date and time.”

Finally, Song Kang was questioned about his ambitions. "Now, I don't decide on a specific target to strive for," he replied. If I make a goal and set out to attain it, but it doesn't turn out the way I hoped, I become tremendously depressed. Instead, I've shifted my focus to trying to savor every moment. "In the past, my mindset was 'You must work hard no matter what,' but today it is 'Enjoy what you do and feel joyful.'"
