Yoon Shi Yoon’s New Drama 'Hyun Jae Is Beautiful' Unveils Family Photos

Are you looking forward to watching Yoon Shi Yoon's upcoming drama series?

The first "family images" of KBS's new weekend drama "Hyun Jae Is Beautiful" (literal translation) have been revealed!

"Hyun Jae Is Beautiful," directed by Kim Sung Geun and written by Ha Myung Hee, is about three Lee brothers who grew up in a period that shunned dating and marriage. To determine who will inherit their parents' apartment, the brothers begin a competition to see who can find a marriage first.

The first "family portrait" focuses on the spiritual backbone of the Lee family, grandfather Lee Kyung Chul (played by Park In Hwan). Lee Kyung Chul lost his wife and cherished daughter early in his life. He met Min Ho and adopted him as his son at this point in his life when he was at his lowest. He has dedicated his life to working as a fresh vegetable seller while raising his son, and he is looking forward to a peaceful old age with his loving daughter-in-law and wonderful grandchildren.

Although Lee Min Ho (Park Sang Won) was adopted, he has a close and special relationship with his father. He worked hard to become the vice-principal of a middle school, following in his father's footsteps of hard work and dedication. Han Kyung Ae (Kim Hye Ok), his wife, is a refreshing woman who always keeps her word and follows through. Her main concern is that, despite their success as doctors and attorneys, she would prefer that her sons marry and bring their children into their home to make it joyful and noisy.

With the exception of Lee Soo Jae (played by Seo Bum June), who is still studying for his civil service exams, the family is concerned that Lee Hyun Jae (played by Yoon Shi Yoon) and Lee Yoon Jae (played by Oh Min Seok), who are both handsome and successful lawyers and dentists, aren't thinking about marriage at their ages. To expedite the process, the elders decide to offer their prized dwelling to the brother who brings home a spouse first in the next six months. This incites the brothers' natural rivalry as they strive to see who will marry first.

The other family photo is of the Hyuns, with Hyun Mi Rae at the middle (Bae Da Bin). Ban Hyo Jung portrays Yoon Jung Ja, the elder of the Hyun family, who became a very successful restauranteur thanks to her excellent survival abilities and charismatic demeanor. She is quite proud of her daughter-in-law, who graduated from an excellent university, despite the fact that she only graduated from elementary school.

Hyun Jin Heon, Yoon Jung Ja's kid, is played by Byun Woo Min, while Jin Soo Jung, Yoon Jung Ja's wife, is played by Park Ji Young. Hyun Jin Heon is the proud owner of a successful gimbap franchise and is madly in love with his wife, whom he thinks about more than their children. When he sees his wife enjoying food that he prepared, he is happiest.

Jin Soo Jung has led a happy life, giving birth to a boy and a daughter, surrounded by her mother-in-and law's husband's devotion. However, this family is concerned about their daughter, Hyun Mi Rae, being involved in a fake marriage. Hyun Mi Rae employs divorce lawyer Lee Hyun Jae for her annulment case, which begins the Hyun and Lee families' intertwining.

Lee Kyung Soon (Sunwoo Yong Nyeo), Lee Kyung Chul's younger sister, who traveled to the United States but became bankrupt and returned to live under her brother's roof, is also a member of the Lee family. Choi Man Ri (Jung Heung Chae) is her son, and Yoo Hye Young is her daughter-in-law (Kim Ye Ryung).

"'Hyun Jae Is Beautiful' contains two enormous families of the type that's unusual to see nowadays," the production team said. Both Hyun Jae's and Mi Rae's families have three generations living under one roof. If the thought of three brothers competing for an apartment by marrying each other draws you in, the many experiences of these two families will make you reassess what it means to be a family."

"Hyun Jae Is Beautiful" will premiere in April, following the conclusion of "Young Lady and Gentleman."
