Lee Jae Wook discussed his acting career, his fear of failure, and more in a recent interview with Arena Homme Plus.

Lee Jae Wook is only 23, yet he has already played characters in their 30s. "It's hard to communicate the weight of age or that style of speech, demeanor, and vibe if you haven't lived it yourself," he replied when asked if there were any challenges. I want to say that being in your 30s is like becoming a gem in society, but I don't have any personal experience with that."

"It doesn't always calculate appropriately," Lee Jae Wook said when asked about the weight of the phrase "a lucky person." Luck is, well, luck. Now I despise being guided by the phrase 'luck.' All I want to do is succeed."

The actor was also asked about the performance that had the most impact on him. Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal of the Joker, he said, had changed his mind about the character. "I hadn't considered the possibility that underneath the chaos, there is underlying sadness," he explained. I'm grateful to Joaquin Phoenix for allowing me to peer into [the Joker's mind]."

When asked if he had any tips on how to get into character, Lee Jae Wook said yes. He confessed that he still has a lot to learn and that he is trying hard to improve. "I'm still a 25-year-old with little experience, so I'm a little embarrassed," he explained. When I read a screenplay, I use the keywords from my first impressions and the situation to portray my emotions. I'll [also have knowhow] when I gain experience, just like how different senior performers each have their unique expertise, right? ’

Lee Jae Wook is a person who appreciates challenges and new experiences. "I appreciate challenging things, and I also enjoy active sports," he remarked. "I am fearful of failure, but I'll self-suggest that I'm closer to success," he said when asked if he's afraid of failure.
