Jay Park Officially Introduces 'Won Soju' + Opens Pop-Up Store in Seoul

Gray, Simon Dominic, Loco and DJ Pumkin were present in the opening!

‘Wonsoju’, a soju made by popular rapper Jay Park, was officially launched for the first time in Korea.

On the 25th, the ‘Wonsoju Pop-up Store’ in The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido was crowded with visitors. Won Soju is the first distilled soju launched by ‘One Spirits’, a premium liquor company headed by Jay Park. It has an alcohol content of 22 percent and a capacity of 375 ml, and it is classified as a ‘local specialty’ and can be sold online.

As a product of ‘premium’ quality, the bottle label is made of fabric to differentiate the appearance. The company explained that it pursued both tradition and modernity by using the Korean currency unit won and coins as its main motifs and applying typography.

The pop-up store is divided into four sections. First, in the photo zone at the entrance, products are displayed along with a circle-shaped symbol, a symbol of elementalism. In the event zone right next door, a photo booth was installed to provide photo opportunities for product buyers.

If you turn to the right, you will see the Brand Zone. Here, a detailed introduction of Won Soju is made, and you can purchase goodies such as Wonju and exclusive glasses. The introductory text on the main exhibit of the Brand Zone said, “Won Soju is a distilled soju made from 100% domestic rice. To maximize the flavor of rice, the raw material, the reduced pressure distillation method was applied, and it was aged in pottery.” It was designed with a 'won' and a coin as the main motifs."

In the ‘Cocktail Zone’ located on the left side of the pop-up store, you can taste cocktails made with soju. Coin chocolate in the shape of the Won Soju logo is also provided as finger food. There are two types of cocktails, 'One Million' and 'One Toddy'. One Million is an ice cocktail with sparkling water added in collaboration with the mineral water brand ‘Perrier’, and One Toddy is a hot cocktail for the winter season with ‘Monin’, a syrup for alcoholic beverages. When you order a cocktail, the resident bartender explains how to drink it and detailed recipes.

A visitor, Mo Yoon (29 years old), who was tasting at the cocktail zone, said, “I thought it would be quite strong for soju at 22 percent, but the throat is quite soft. The empty bottle will be used for interior purposes,” he said.

An official from One Spirits said, "In foreign countries, it is common for famous artists to create individual liquor brands to communicate with fans and diversify cultures, but Korea is a bit slower in that regard." We will expand our global market by establishing ourselves as Korea's leading premium distilled soju," he said.

Meanwhile, Won Soju will be sold in advance through the pop-up store for a week from this day to the 4th of next month. From the end of next month, it will be officially sold through its own mall.
