'Squid Game' Makes Historic Wins At The 28th SAG Awards

They took home a total of 3 SAG trophies!

On February 27, local time, the 28th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were held in Santa Monica, California. In the male and female categories, Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon each won Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series, making them the first Korean actors to win these honors in the drama series category. They are also the first Asian-American actors to do so.

In addition, "Squid Game" took home the award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series, defeating the other nominees "Cobra Kai," "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," "Loki," and "Mare of Easttown," giving them a total of three victories out of their four nominations.

On January 12, "Squid Game" made history when it received four nominations for the 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards. "Squid Game" was the first non-English language TV series to receive an Emmy nomination. The show received nominations for Outstanding Ensemble Performance in a Drama Series and Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series, as well as individual actor nominations for Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon.

Brian Cox ("Succession"), Billy Crudup ("The Morning Show"), Kieran Culkin ("Succession"), and Jeremy Strong ("Succession") competed against Lee Jung Jae. Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston ("The Morning Show"), Elisabeth Moss ("The Handmaid's Tale"), Sarah Snook ("Succession"), and Reese Witherspoon ("The Morning Show") competed against Jung Ho Yeon.
