SM, YG and JYP Send Donations To Aid Wildfire Victims

Three of the biggest entertainment agencies have also decided to extend their help to the affected citizens.

SM Entertainment and Executive Producer Lee Soo Man donated 500 million KRW (407,332 USD) to the victims of forest fires in the Eastern coast of South Korea. According to Hope Bridge, Lee Soo Man and SM donated on March 8 to help recover from the forest fire's destruction and assist the victims in returning to regular life.

"We hope that the blaze will be extinguished as soon as possible," an SM official stated, "and that the damaged region will be repaired."

On March 10th, YG Entertainment also announced a donation of 500 million KRW to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, which would be used to repair forest fire damage and assist sufferers.

The money will go toward various emergency aid supplies that the victims require. "We hope it will be of some assistance to our neighbors who are experiencing a difficult time as a result of the forest fires," YG stated.

JYP Entertainment also made a donation of 300 million KRW (US$244,409) to aid children and victims of large-scale wildfires in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk.

The money will be used by World Vision, an international relief and development organization, to help low-income families and children who have been affected by the wildfires in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk.
