HYBE Finally Addressed "Butter" Plagiarism Concerns

BTS' agency has finally addressed the concerns and plagiarism allegations against the group's smash hit "Butter".

Finally, HYBE Label has finally responded to the plagiarism accusations swirling around BTS' hit song "Butter".

Online communities have been abuzz with speculations that a part of the song carries the same melody as a part of the song You Got Me Down by singer Luca Debonaire, which was released last year. The composer himself has shared that he bought the topline two years ago, in 2019, from Sebastian Garcia.

Sebastian Garcia is also credited as a composer of the hit BTS song, therefore raising suspicions that Sebastian Garcia had used the same topline for the two different songs.

According to Big Hit Music, there are no copyright issues regarding the song. There are also no issues about the song's rights, therefore thwarting the claims by Debonaire. There might be an issue regarding copyrights, but the musical rights still belong to Big Hit Music and "Butter".

Meanwhile, BTS' new song Permission to Dance has also entered the Billboard Hot 100, ranking at the top of the charts upon debuting in the list.
