Red Velvet Live Concerts Canceled as Yeri, Joy, Irene Test Positive to COVID

They will be having a comeback this week.

It was announced Monday that three members of the K-pop girl group Red Velvet — Irene, Joy, and Yeri — have tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in the postponement of the two performances scheduled for this weekend, according to the group's agency.

Self-test kits were used to confirm the members' positive status, and then polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests were performed, which revealed that they were indeed positive, according to SM Entertainment.

Following completion of their vaccine, the three are getting care at home and are not exhibiting any unusual symptoms, according to the statement.

The remaining two members, Seulgi and Wendy, were found to have negative results.

The diseases forced the postponement of the group's first live performances since November 2019, according to the agency, which also stated that all tickets will be completely returned as a result.

The group, on the other hand, will release their new EP on Monday, as previously anticipated, according to SM.

Red Velvet planned to hold two "2022 The ReVe Festival: Prologue" concerts at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Olympic Park in southern Seoul on Saturday and Sunday, with the last one scheduled to be streamed live online for its international fans. The concerts were scheduled to take place at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Olympic Park in southern Seoul on Saturday and Sunday.

Following a review of the performers' health and COVID-19 conditions, the agency stated that it will determine whether or not to reschedule the concerts.
