BTS Sets New Record With 10 Awards At The 36th Japan Gold Disc Awards + Winners

Congratulations to BTS and all the winners!

The winners of this year's Japan Gold Disc Awards have been announced, and BTS has established a new record!

The winners of the 36th Japan Gold Disc Awards were announced on March 14 by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

This year, BTS won a record ten accolades, making them the first foreign act to ever win ten trophies in a single year. Not only did the group win Artist of the Year (Asia) for the fourth year in a row, but they also took home Album of the Year (Asia) and Music Video of the Year (Asia) for their Japanese compilation album "BTS, THE BEST" and "Map of the Soul ON:E."

SEVENTEEN's "Attacca," TXT's "Chaotic Wonderland," and BTS's "BTS, THE BEST" took home the Best 3 Albums (Asia) accolades this year.

Song of the Year by Download (Asia) and Song of the Year by Streaming (Asia) went to BTS's mega hit "Butter," while Song of the Year by Download (Asia) went to BTS and Coldplay's collaboration "My Universe" (Western).

BTS's "Permission to Dance" and "Butter" each received one of this year's Best 5 Music by Streaming Honors (which include both Japanese and Western songs), while "Butter" also received one of the Best 5 Songs by Download awards.

Meanwhile, ENHYPEN was named New Artist of the Year in the area of new artists (Asia). ITZY, ENHYPEN, and TREASURE received this year's Best 3 New Artists (Asia) accolades, all of which made their official Japanese debut in 2021.
