BLACKPINK's Lisa Breaks New Record With 'Money' on Spotify

Congratulations to Lisa for setting a new record!

BLACKPINK's management company, YG Entertainment, reported on the 14th that Lisa's solo song, "MONEY," has received over 400 million streams on Spotify. On September 10, 2021, 186 days had passed since the release. "It is the shortest period among K-pop solo artists' music that has attained 400 million streams," the agency noted.

Lisa made a record by streaming a total of five songs, including those by BLACKPINK, over 400 million times. BLACKPINK's 'Lovesick Girls,' 'Kill This Love,' 'How You Like That,' and 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' have all surpassed 400 million streams. The song 'Money' is from Lisa's solo album 'Lalisa.' Because of the addicting chorus and powerful hip-hop style, it charted well both domestically and internationally, reaching number 93 on Billboard's primary single chart, the 'Hot 100.' This song's choreography video is poised to reach 500 million views on YouTube.

Lalisa Manoban, better known by her stage name Lisa, is a South Korean-based Thai rapper, singer, and dancer. She is a member of the YG Entertainment-produced South Korean girl group BLACKPINK. In September 2021, Lisa released her first solo album, "Lalisa." In its first week of release in South Korea, the album sold over 736,000 copies, making her the first female artist to achieve this feat. In the first 24 hours after its release, the music video for its lead song of the same name had 73.6 million views on YouTube, making it the most-watched music video by a solo artist on the platform.
