Hyeri and Yoon Doo Joon In Talks To Star in New Drama 'Ildangbaek Butler'

Are you looking forward to this new possible on-screen tandem?

Hyeri from Girl's Day and Yoon Doojoon from Highlight may be back with a new drama soon!

Hyeri and Yoon Doojoon will star as the leads in the forthcoming MBC drama "Ildangbaek Butler," according to Sports Chosun (literal title).

"Hyeri is positively reviewing the offer to star in MBC's new drama 'Ildangbaek Butler,'" a source from Hyeri's agency, Creative Group ING, said in response to the reports. "Yoon Doojoon received an offer to star in 'Ildangbaek Butler,' and he is currently reviewing the offer," a representative from Yoon Doojoon's agency, Around Us Entertainment, said.

"Ildangbaek Butler" follows the narrative of Butler Kim, who does errands for 100 won (about 10 cents) every task, and funeral director Baek Dong Joo, who grants the desires of the dead, as they manage the Ildangbaek errand-running business (meaning one person doing the work of 100, and in this specific case, also referring to the fact that one errand costs 100 won).

Yoon Doojoon is being considered for the role of Butler Kim, Ildangbaek's sole employee. Butler Kim, despite his loving eyes, has a ferocious side within, and despite his casual demeanor, he carries his weight at vital moments. Due to a customer's request, he meets Baek Dong Joo, and within three meetings, he discovers a secret he can't bear and becomes entangled in Baek Dong Joo's life.

Hyeri is in talks to play Baek Dong Joo, a bright and invigorating figure who appears to be a fragile sprout but is actually a steadfast and strong character. Baek Dong Joo appears boring as well, but she isn't, and she is a tough nut who began playing table tennis at the age of eight. Baek Dong Joo discovers she has a strange gift after becoming a funeral director: she can communicate with the dead. When her warm hand touches the corpse's face, a tingling signal and a flash of light appear, as if a switch is turned on, and the deceased regains vitality and speaks to her. Baek Dong Joo faithfully follows out the deceased's final requests.

Hyeri recently completed her historical drama "Moonshine," and fans are eagerly anticipating her next transformation. Hyeri has a long list of hit works under her belt, including "My Roommate Is a Gumiho," "Miss Lee," "Reply 1988," and more.

Yoon Doojoon is currently preparing for Highlight's long-awaited comeback with their first full-length album, "DAYDREAM," as well as his return to television with the drama "There is No Goo Pil Soo" (literal translation).

Keep an eye out for more drama updates!
