BLACKPINK's Jennie's 'SOLO' M/V Breaks Records With 800M Views

It is the first ever K-Pop female solo music video to reach this milestone!

Jennie's solo debut tune 'SOLO' MV topped 800 million views on March 17. It was released on November 12, 2018, and it has been 3 years and 4 months since then. This is also the first time a K-Pop female solo music video has reached this milestone.

The clear and truthful lyrics describing the beautiful code at the beginning, the concise melody line, and the dignified side of not being bound by sadness even after separating earned 'SOLO' a lot of appreciation from music fans.

The song topped the real-time, daily, and weekly charts of major domestic music charts as soon as it was published, accomplishing the so-called "perfect all-kill." Jennie was also the first Korean female solo artist to top the iTunes WorldWide Song Chart at the time, as well as 40 other nations' iTunes charts.

Jennie is a rapper and singer from South Korea. Jennie was born and raised in South Korea, but spent five years studying in New Zealand before returning to her homeland in 2010. In August 2016, she made her debut as a member of the girl group BLACKPINK, which was founded by YG Entertainment. Jennie became the first Korean solo singer to perform at Coachella in April 2019. Her performance was named to Billboard's list of "The 10 Best Things We Saw at Coachella 2019," with fans and casual onlookers calling it "mind-blowing" and "beautiful."

BLACKPINK's third single, 'Lovesick Girls,' was released on October 2, 2020, as the third single off the group's debut Korean-language studio album, 'The Album.' Jennie co-wrote the song.
