The star-studded primary cast for tvN's next drama has been confirmed!

Jung Woo and Lee Yoo Mi were confirmed to be in talks for a tvN sports drama in November. The casting of Jung Woo, Lee Yoo Mi, Kwon Yool, and Park Se Young in the upcoming drama "Mental Coach Je Gal Gil" (literal title) was revealed by tvN on March 18!

"Mental Coach Je Gal Gil" is a sports drama about a former national athlete who retires from athletics after sparking a scandal and goes on to work as a mental coach for departed professional athletes and current athletes who have hit a rough patch.

Jung Woo will play Je Gal Gil, a former national Taekwondo athlete noted for his dedication and eccentric charms. Je Gal Gil is permanently banned and dubbed the unfortunate Taekwondo prodigy after causing an extraordinary accident in the athlete's village. Je Gal Gil returns to the athlete's community as a mental coach after overcoming his past trauma and regaining his mental health.

Lee Yoo Mi, who has starred in films like as "Squid Game" and "All of Us Are Dead," will play Cha Ga Eul, a former world-class short track speed skating gold medalist who has fallen out of favor. She's regarded as the up-and-coming "Ice Princess" because of her lovely poker face, but she's in danger of fading away if she gets into a funk. Cha Ga Eul begins to beat herself up since she is unable to confide in anybody until she meets mental coach Je Gal Gil.

Gu Tae Man, the director of the Korean Olympic Committee's Human Rights Center, will be played by Kwon Yool. Je Gal Gil's life was changed suddenly because of the former Taekwondo Olympic gold medalist's great hunger for power. Gu Tae Min strives for the top position because he believes that anything can be covered as long as he is No. 1.

Park Se Young portrays Park Seung Ha, a member of the athlete's village's mental health support staff. She is the epitome of "a good daughter who was raised well," but after meeting Je Gal Gil as her first patient, she faces an unexpected challenge. Park Seung Ha eventually leaves the hospital and applies to the athlete's village, where she unexpectedly reunites with Je Gal Gil as advisor partners.

"We've finished casting Jung Woo, Lee Yoo Mi, Kwon Yool, and Park Se Young," the producers said. The actors will display explosive chemistry with director Son Jung Hyun and writer Kim Ban Di thanks to their excellent performance and character immersion. Please anticipate it eagerly."

In the second half of 2022, "Mental Coach Je Gal Gil" will premiere.
