Kang Dong-Won Signs with CAA

He joins Jung Hoyeon and Lee Jungjae among their roster.

Hollywood star Gang Dong-won has signed a contract with the Creative Artists Agency, which is located in the United States, according to the US entertainment daily Variety.

Gang will continue to be represented by his existing agency, YG Entertainment, in Korea. However, the CAA will be in charge of Gang's worldwide representation.

With popular films such as "Romance of Their Own" (2004), "Jeon Woochi: The Taoist Wizard 2009," "A Violent Prosecutor 2015," and "Peninsula," the 41-year-old model-turned-actor established a reputation for himself (2020).

Tsunami LA, directed by Simon West, is slated to be Gang's first feature picture in Hollywood. Filming will begin in 2019." "However, the exact date of its release has not yet been determined," a YG Entertainment representative told The Korea Herald on Friday.

Overseas, an increasing number of Korean performers are signing with the agency, reflecting the growing importance of Korean material in the worldwide entertainment landscape, particularly on global streaming platforms such as Netflix, Apple TV, and Disney+, among others.

Jung Ho-yeon, a 27-year-old actress who shot to worldwide prominence with the Netflix blockbuster "Squid Game," signed with CAA in November 2021, followed by her "Squid Game" co-star Lee Jung-jae, who signed with CAA in February.

"The actor will be more active on the world stage as a result of CAA's global network," Lee's agency Artist Company stated in a statement at the time.
