With their latest release, TWICE has created Oricon history! The female group released '#TWICE4', their fourth Japanese best-of compilation album, last week. The album debuted at number one on Oricon's daily album chart for three days in a row, and it has now also debuted at number one on Oricon's weekly album chart!
TWICE has set a new record with this. The girl trio has now topped Oricon's weekly album chart with eight different albums, making them the first foreign female artist to do so. TWICE has now surpassed BoA's record of seven chart-topping albums. TWICE has now surpassed TVXQ as the foreign artist with the second-highest number of albums that have reached number one on the weekly chart. With nine separate albums, BTS currently holds the record for the foreign artist with the most releases reaching number one on the weekly list.
'#TWICE4', TWICE's record-breaking album, has Japanese and Korean versions of the girl group's smash songs 'I CAN'T STOP ME,' 'CRY FOR ME,' 'Alcohol-Free,' and 'SCIENTIST.'
TWICE also became the first and only foreign female act to reach one million followers on LINE MUSIC Japan last month, making them the platform's sixth most popular artist, behind BTS and Japanese musicians GReeeN, Nishino Kana, and Aimyon.
TWICE will celebrate its fifth anniversary in Japan in June 2022. Meanwhile, the girl group recently performed in the United States as part of their 'III' world tour, which is currently in its fourth leg.
TWICE deserves to be congratulated for their newest accomplishment!
