Kim Ji Won, Lee Min Ki, and Lee El, who star in "My Liberation Notes," recently took part in a photo session for Elle!
"My Liberation Notes" (originally titled "My Liberation Diary") is a story about three brothers who wish to leave their suffocating life and the events that occur when a mysterious outsider arrives in their town. Kim Ji Won, Lee Min Ki, and Lee El appear as the three siblings Yeom Mi Jung, Yeom Chang Hee, and Yeom Ki Jung, respectively, and Son Seok Gu as the enigmatic outsider Mr. Gu in the drama.
The actors discussed the impending drama and their parts in the following interview. To begin, Lee Min Ki discusses how he presented Yeom Chang Hee, the middle sibling who had anticipated for a more adventurous existence in the metropolis but now wanders aimlessly without desire.
"I just wanted to seem like Yeom Chang Hee, so I tried not to do anything as much as possible," Lee Min Ki explained. I wanted to get rid of all the artificial things in my life. It was a scripted drama, but it was a documentary in my heart. I'd given up on makeup and clothing for the most part."
Yeom Mi Jung, played by Kim Ji Won, is the younger sibling who is introverted and timid until she decides to make a change in order to break free from her monotonous existence. "She feels like an egg," the actress said when asked how she interpreted Yeom Mi Jung. She's already been born into the world, but she's like a chick attempting to break through the shell that has been placed around her."
Yeom Ki Jung, the eldest sibling, feels like her youth has been wasted going back and forth to her job in Seoul and is yearning to find love. Lee El plays Yeom Ki Jung. "I wanted to play a role in stories that always appear to be around us that would scratch the itchy areas of the viewers or communicate what's on their mind on behalf of them," Lee El said of her character's genuine aspect. On that note, I read the script for 'My Liberation Notes,' and I knew I wanted to try it as soon as I finished the first page."
The full interview and photo shoot with the three stars will be published in the April issue of Elle.
"My Liberation Notes," a JTBC series, begins on April 9 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
