Yoo In Soo Talks About Upcoming Drama in Cosmopolitan Korea April 2022 Issue

Are you excited to see the All of Us Are Dead villain in a new project?

Yoo In Soo talks about his character in "All of Us Are Dead," his upcoming drama, and more in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan.

"When I was portraying Yoon Gwi Nam, there wasn't much of me in it," Yoo In Soo said of his acting aims. I had to pretend to be someone else because the character was portrayed in such a way. If I can play a character who has a personal connection to me in the future, I believe I will be able to erase Yoon Gwi Nam's image through my acting. Because Yoon Gwi Nam's character is so ferocious, I believe any character would naturally appear to be unlike him."

In addition, the actor discussed his next drama "Hwan Hon" (romanized title)! "Hwan Hon," directed by Park Joon Hwa of "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim," is a fantasy romance drama set in the imaginary nation of Daeho. It's about characters whose lives are turned upside down by a spell that switches people's souls—a process known as hwan hon.

Yoo In Soo will portray Park Dang Gu, the heir to an affluent Daeho family in the top one percent. Despite being the heir to a prominent family, Park Dang Gu is more interested in partying and the different rumors circulating in Daeho than on his business classes.

"I hope I'll be able to convey a completely different image from Yoon Gwi Nam," he expressed his excitement for the drama. The first episode is scheduled to debut in June."

"I'm softhearted," Yoon In Soo said of how he differs from his role in "All of Us Are Dead." Gwi Nam is incredibly strong and doesn't feel pain when he is attacked. I do, however, experience discomfort. I had to act as if it didn't hurt when I was hit, but the second before I was hit, I was terrified. I couldn't disguise my dread, and I had to remind myself to keep it in so I didn't look like a loser on film. On set, I was an introverted softie."

To learn how to act with his eyes for the drama, the actor viewed documentaries on wild animals. He talked about what it was like to act with one eye missing. "At first, I was very concerned. Actors communicate with their eyes, and the audience picks up on this, so I was losing my most powerful weapon. However, as I observed myself on stage, I understood that this feature may potentially give the persona a creepy air. Because I only had one eye to deal with, I concentrated on practicing the small movements with it. I'd become so used to acting with one eye that using both for my next play seemed weird. I was wondering how I used to look at people with both eyes.”

Yoon In Soo also talked about how he feels when people tell him he looks like AKMU's Lee Chanhyuk. "At first, I was worried since the role I played in the drama was terrifying, and I thought the analogy didn't accurately reflect that." It piqued my interest, and I began to see why people believed we resembled one other. I also wanted to know if he had seen 'All of Us Are Dead.'"

Finally, Yoo In Soo discussed his aspirations as an actor. "Practicing monologues was the only way I could obtain audition practice when I was preparing for auditions." Once I've gained experience as an actress, I'd like to witness other actors rehearse lines from monologues I've performed on screen. As an actor, I believe my ultimate purpose is to spread joy and excitement. It would be fantastic to be known as a nice, skilled, and trustworthy actor."
