Red Velvet's Wendy participates in tribute to Kim Minki

She covered a song by the multitalented artist for an upcoming album.

Red Velvet’s main vocalist Wendy participated in the 50th anniversary tribute album for composer, playwright, and singer Kim Minki.

Songs from the album will be released on digital music platforms starting this month, and a physical edition of it will be available in July.

Musicians of various stripes participated in this project. Wendy is one of only two idols who were selected to do so, the other one being NCT’s Taeil.

He did “Beautiful People” while Wendy did “That Place in Between.” Not only did she sing lead on it, but she also did all the background vocals for her cover.

"The song is about the beauty of nature, and we tried to express the sensibility of the evening scenery as much as possible," Wendy says of the recording process.

The fact that Wendy is the only female idol who was tapped to lend her talents to this project says a lot about her artistry.

Naturally, Reveluvs (Red Velvet’s fandom) were elated and proud because of this news. As a result, they made the hashtag #InBetween_WENDY trend on Twitter.

Wendy's cover of "That Place in Between" is now available for worldwide streaming on YouTube Music.
