MONSTA X' Kihyun Tests Positive For COVID-19

Hoping for Kihyun's quick and healthy recovery!

"Kihyun of MONSTA X, the artist under the agency, has symptoms of sore throat, so he underwent a rapid antigen test and was confirmed to be COVID-19," Starship Entertainment said on the official fan cafe on March 30th. "Kihyun has completed the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and is currently undergoing treatment at home according to the guidelines of the quarantine authorities," he added.

Finally, the agency stated, "We will do our best to strictly adhere to the quarantine guidelines so that the artist can focus on recovery." On March 28th, Starship Entertainment announced the postponement of the 11th mini album's release date, as well as the confirmation of MONSTA X's Hyungwon testing positive for COVID-19.

Kihyun is a singer and composer from South Korea. He is a member of the South Korean boy band MONSTA X, which debuted in 2015 on Mnet's survival show 'No.Mercy' under Starship Entertainment. He donated 10 million won to the Good Neighbors, a South Korean nonprofit that aids low-income families, in January 2021. Kihyun released the song 'O.M.O.M.' for the soundtrack of the drama 'Replay' in February. Kihyun was lauded for his efforts on the drama, especially for his ability to communicate the "sweetness and tenderness" that the drama required.

Kihyun made his solo debut in March 2022 with the single album 'Voyager,' and has since released several original soundtracks.
