The Power of Social Media and Platforms

On the 17th and 18th of July, the Ok Bing Sul Store on the 1st floor of the Source Mall in OC.

Over the weekend, the BTS Cub Sleeve Event hosted by KWAVE GO, which supports the Korean Wave social platform, attracted about 1,000 BTS fans and was a great success. The event, designed to express gratitude to BTS fans who made a decisive contribution to BTS's great success in the United States, was promoted through Instagram and KWAVE GO's own social platform (kwave.ai) for only one week. But thousands of fans flocked to the event venue from all over the Southern California.

Occasionally, Koreans-American were noticed, but 99% of the participants were various ethnic groups such as Black, White, Hispanic, and Asian fans. Kwave was able to realize the reality that the United States is the epicenter of the spread of Hallyu and the greatest Hallyu power in North America. 

It was a valuable opportunity to confirm the power of social media and platforms that can bring Hallyu fans together.

 

Hallyu Marketing in the Age of Social Platforms

Through digitally created social platforms and chain-like social media, individuals and companies are emerging to exert influence beyond traditional media. In recent years, some social platform services have adopted cryptocurrency as the purchase currency, apart from the point or credit systems.

Can't we create a virtual world space where 1 billion Hallyu fans around the world can gather in one place? Can Hally fans enjoy various Hallyu contents from K-pop to K-characters? Is there any way to strengthen the content service with the ever-evolving artificial intelligence (AI) technology?
