HYBE, home of BTS, TXT, NU'EST, Seventeen, and fromis_9, and the Big 3 of K-Pop, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment, have officially released their second-quarter income and profits for 2021. The businesses have supplied sufficient details about how they made their earnings.

YG Entertainment is in fourth place. It is the only Big 4 firm to lose money in the second quarter of 2021, with a deficit of 1.50 billion KRW (about $1.29 million USD) in June. After earning 83.6 billion KRW (about $71.7 million USD) in revenue, the company's operating profit was 10.4 billion KRW (around $8.92 million USD). No YG Entertainment artists released new music in the second quarter of 2021, which explains the low revenue. When BLACKPINK's Lisa makes her anticipated solo debut in the third quarter, sales are likely to skyrocket.

YG Entertainment's finances have deteriorated since the first quarter of 2021, when the business earned $8.65 billion KRW (about $7.42 million USD) because to comebacks from TREASURE, iKON's Bobby, and WINNER's Seungyoon, as well as the solo debut of BLACKPINK Rosé.

JYP Entertainment came in third with a net income of 4.80 billion KRW (about $4.12 million USD) in the second quarter of 2021. After earning 40.6 billion KRW (about $34.8 million USD) in sales, the company made an operating profit of 9.60 billion KRW (about $8.24 million USD).

JYP Entertainment was recently chastised for failing to act on charges of school bullying leveled against Stray Kids' Hyunjin, causing its Korean following to erupt in rage. Twice and Itzy's fans have also complained about the absence of promotions after their promotions have concluded.

SM Entertainment took second place out of the four companies. In the second quarter of 2021, it had a net profit of 16.3 billion KRW (about $14.0 million USD). After earning 186 billion KRW (approximately $160 million USD) in sales, the company made a 27.5 billion KRW (about $23.6 million USD) operational profit.

SHINee and Taemin, Super Junior's Yesung, EXO, and NCT Dream all released new music in the second quarter of 2021. Wendy and Joy of Red Velvet had their solo debuts throughout the quarter, boosting sales even more. After SHINee, Super Junior, and EXO's Baekhyun made comebacks in the first quarter of 2021, SM Entertainment's net income nearly doubled to $8.67 billion KRW (about $7.44 million USD).

Because Red Velvet has returned with a new release after two years, it is believed that SM Entertainment would earn more in the third quarter. Fans, on the other side, have questioned the way Source Music, a division of HYBE, handled GFriend's contract renewals, which led to the band's unexpected disbandment a few months ago.
