Chae Jonghyeop and His Fame on Nevertheless and More

This interview taken from Cosmopolitan Korea showed his many charms that endeared him to the viewers and his fans.

Nevertheless and The Witch's Diner actor Chae Jonghyeop sat down for an interview with Cosmopolitan Korea, where he talked about his experiences in filming both dramas and many more. The magazine also shared several photos from the accompanying photo shoot.

Chae Jong Hyeop, who plays Nam Do Hyuk opposite Park Jae-eon (Song Kang) in the drama, revealed that Yang Do Hyuk and Han So Hee (Han So Hee) are longtime friends. He is apprehended after having secretly admired her as his first love for a long time. He needed to express himself in a different way than Jae-eon.

It was difficult for him, however, because he frequently filmed without knowing how the two of them interacted. Fortunately, for the most part, Han So Hee was in command of the situation. Han So Hee benefited from being in the middle of them rather than working well with them.

When asked how Yang Do Hyuk differed from his character in The Witch's Diner, Lee Gil Yong, Chae Jong Hyeop said Yang Do Hyuk was like a pudding that absorbed and accepted everything, whereas Lee Gil Yong exuded a stronger vibe.

He also mentioned promoting The Witch's Diner by appearing on shows like Running Man. He expressed his apprehension at appearing on such programs for the first time due to his reserved personality. He also stated that after filming, he was completely exhausted.

The interviewer mentioned that viewers were surprised to learn he was the same height as Song Kang after he mentioned his desire to grow to be 188 centimeters tall. That piqued his interest, he added. The director wanted them to be mirror images of each other because there was a stone path between them. He remembered that they continued to laugh when they made eye contact.

He also mentioned studying in South Africa for a few years. He stated that while abroad, he listened to pop music every night to help improve his English. Extending on his experience, he explained that because it was dangerous at night and he couldn't go out, he started going to the gym.

He felt compelled to act, but he didn't know what. He also grilled meat in his front yard while stargazing. The sky in South Africa is more spacious and clean than the sky in Korea, allowing you to see the stars clearly.

He then talked about how he downloaded variety show episodes from people who had visited Korea, as well as his phone communication difficulties. Back then, cell phones were not smart phones. Furthermore, some phones did not support the Korean language. When communicating with other Koreans, they would write out Korean sounds using the equivalent English letters. They had the option of using English but chose not to.

Previously, when asked what kind of actor he wanted to be, he said he wanted to sit at a table and read a script. Extending on his response, he stated that his SBS drama Stove League was his public network debut. He sat behind the table reading while staring at Jo Han Sun's back because the script had so many characters. As a result, he made the decision that his next goal would be to sit at the table during the reading.

We will always be there for him in his future endeavors and projects.
