BLACKPINK is now the artist with the most subscribers on YouTube, the girl group’s label YG Entertainment said last Friday, September 10. They have over 66 million subscribers as of this writing, more than the former record holder—who happens to be Canadian soloist Justin Bieber.
“It’s unbelievable,” BLACKPINK said in a joint statement. “This miracle was made possible by BLINKs everywhere. We will continue to be artists who give positive energy through good music and videos.”
This achievement comes five years and three months after the girl group opened its YouTube channel on June 28, 2016. They currently have 29 videos, all of which have earned over 100 million views. The total number of views all their videos have earned is quickly approaching the 20 billion mark.
Meanwhile, their hit single “How You Like That” has been streamed more than 500 million times on Spotify. This is the first time a K-Pop girl group crossed that mark with one of their songs. This record comes a year and three months after the song’s release.
“How You Like That” surpassed “DDU-DDU-DU” to become BLACKPINK’s most-streamed song. The group has a total of 17 songs that have earned over 100 million streams each.
According to YG Entertainment, Lisa’s solo debut with “Lalisa” brought on a sudden surge in streams and subscribers.
