Lee Seung Gi's agency is taking further efforts to seek legal action against anyone who spread false information about the actor.

Hook Entertainment issued the following formal statement on October 20.

We would like to thank the fans for their unwavering support and love for our artist Lee Seung Gi, despite the tough circumstances that everyone is through as a result of COVID-19.

In a recent statement, we announced that we had collaborated with the legal firm LIWU to run a clean internet monitoring center to combat conduct such as the dissemination of false rumors, defamation, and insults, and that malevolent commentators had incurred harsh criminal penalty as a consequence.

Even after our collaboration with LIWU stopped, we continued to constantly monitor the situation surrounding fake news and hostile remarks and designed numerous solutions on our own.

Despite this, Lee Seung Gi is still being targeted by fake news and vicious remarks that cross the line.

Defaming others by spreading false information, insulting someone's character with expressions that go beyond rudeness and vulgarity, and purposefully lowering the social evaluation of celebrities who are well-known to the public are all serious criminal offenses that can result in both criminal penalties and civil damage claims.

We will not accept spiteful commentators that trash Lee Seung Gii's reputation and name and cause him psychological anguish as an agency. We will undoubtedly guarantee that these individuals get proper criminal punishment for the crimes they have done, as well as civil liability for damages. We will do everything in our power to eliminate these harmful remarks.

To do this, the agency has recruited a new legal representation, law firm Ji Myung. We shall actively and rapidly seek more severe and effective kinds of legal action through this law firm.

We declare our decision to seek severe legal action and a zero-tolerance stance for activity that defames Lee Seung Gi's reputation and name and causes him psychological hardship.
