Lee Dohyun's New Drama Delays Premiere Due to COVID

Several staff members were tested positive.

COVID-19 has been detected in several members of the production team for tvN's forthcoming drama "Melancholia."

In this new play, set in a corrupt private school, the main character is named Melancholia. This drama follows the journey of Im Soo Jung, who portrays a dedicated math instructor named Ji Yoon Soo, and Lee Do Hyun, who portrays a previous math prodigy named Baek Seung Yoo, as they work together to overcome societal traditions and prejudices.

In a statement released on October 31, a spokesperson from the film "Melancholia" claimed, "After one of the production employees tested positive for COVID-19, the whole cast and crew underwent PCR testing." Only three additional members of the team tested positive, while the rest of the team tested negative."

"Because safety comes first, we have made the choice to postpone the premiere in order to ensure a safe production," the spokesman stated. We took this choice after carefully considering the current production scenario, in order to provide viewers with the most seamless viewing experience possible."

A new date has been set for the premiere of "Melancholia," which was originally planned to debut on November 3.
