Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung to debut in new girl group IVE

IVE will be Starship Entertainment's first girl group since Cosmic Girls.

After IZ*ONE disbanded last April, most of the Produce 48 alumni who were in the group wasted no time in setting off on new musical journeys. The rest chose to pursue other endeavors, such as acting and modeling.

However, Starship Entertainment’s Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung chose to take some time off before diving back into showbusiness. But it seems their break is over because their agency recently announced that it will debut a new girl group later this year.

According to Starship Entertainment, their new girl group will be called IVE, which is short for “I HAVE.” The group’s name is supposed to signify that its members are confident in their ability to make it to the top. As per insider reports, every single girl in IVE has it all—skills, star quality, and visuals. Starship Entertainment plans to establish the group’s brand identity before its debut, which may help it find an audience.

Wonyoung and Yujin are expected to debut in IVE alongside Lami, an ex-SM Entertainment trainee. Lami was a member of the pre-debut trainee team SMROOKIES, but she left the agency in February 2020. As of this writing, it’s unknown how many members the group will have.
