Squid Game Announces Second Season

They finally confirmed it in an official event.

The mega-hit Netflix series "Squid Game" had a promotional event in Los Angeles on November 8.

Hwang Dong Hyuk, the director and writer of "Squid Game," announced there would be a second season in an interview with the Associated Press.

He stated, "There has been a lot of demand, pressure, and affection for a second season." "It's almost as though we don't have much of a choice." Right now, I'm thinking about the upcoming season. I'm currently in the planning stages. However, it is too early to predict when and how it will be released. But I can assure you of one thing. "The main character, Gi Hun, will return and accomplish something good for the world," says Lee Jung Jae, who plays Seong Gi Hun.

Although the production team has previously hinted at a second season, this is the first time the director has confirmed officially that a second season is in the works. Netflix has yet to confirm whether or not the sitcom will be renewed for a second season.

For weeks, "Squid Game" was at the top of Netflix's top 10 list of most popular shows. According to Variety, it has amassed over 3 billion minutes of viewing time and is expected to be worth almost $900 million to Netflix. Netflix announced in October that the show had been watched by 111 million Netflix customers around the world.
