BLACKSWAN's management company, DR Music, has issued a statement in response to rumors of a feud between members Fatou and Leia, according to the statement.
BLACKSWAN (also known as Black Swan) is a four-member girl group that consists of Youngheun, Leia, Fatou, and Judy at the moment. The group was once known as Rania, and they have gone through a number of lineup changes since making their debut in 2009.
On November 20, DR Music issued the following statement, which was available in both Korean and English:
Greetings, this is DR Music on the line. As a result of recent events inside the team, we would like to make the following formal statement.
In the midst of their album promotion in Korea for "Close to Me," BLACKSWAN has begun to garner a great deal of interest and support from the public. We owe a debt of gratitude to LUMINA [BLACKSWAN's fans] for making this possible. BLUE SWAN is a Korean idol group that has only recently gained popularity as a result of its diverse membership, which includes members from a variety of ethnicities, languages, and cultural backgrounds. When compared to other K-pop teams, our team has a stronger need for mutual respect and understanding because there are so many different perspectives and cultures coexisting inside it.
Each and every member of the DR Music team expresses regret to LUMINA for the fact that internal concerns within the team were misrepresented by outsiders and distributed to fans as though they were factual. When people from different backgrounds come together to work together, there can be a variety of conflicts and differences of opinion. However, a constructive disagreement amongst team members about how to best complete their task should not be provocatively presented as bullying in order to create additional strife within our group of professionals.
The agency and the members both appreciated and acknowledged the value of one another as a result of this episode, which occurred over the course of many days with a large number of talks with members. Our commitment to do our very best till the record promotion campaign is completed has been renewed as well.
We sincerely appreciate all of the fans who have shown their love and support for BLACKSWAN, and Fatou and Leia, as well as the rest of the cast, will demonstrate via these promotions that their relationship has not altered.
LUMINA is one among them. It is not ideal for us to be divided and to criticize one another's positions. We respectfully beg that individuals who are attacking the members, their families, and other fans, as well as those who are making racist verbal and physical attacks, cease and desist from their activities immediately.
At the moment, BLACKSWAN is the only K-pop group that has members from Europe and Latin America on the roster. For us, the entire process of putting together a group like this is a challenge and an experiment. We were also frustrated and wanted the agency to issue a statement right away, but we believed that the process of understanding one another, talking with one another, and mending things was more important in resolving their internal issues than imposing the agency's intervention on them, even if it meant taking more time overall. Because of this, it has taken some time for us to issue a statement.
As this is our first challenge, we recognize that there are areas in which we fell short, and we will do everything we can in the future to improve the administration and growth of the members' organizations. We will build a firm basis for BLACKSWAN's growth based on their fans' critiques and input, allowing them to develop into a group that everyone enjoys.
Even as I write this, the members are hard at work in the practice room. Please, LUMINA, refrain from escalating the argument any further. Criticism directed against a certain race or ethnicity, in particular, contradicts our good aims of building a worldwide girl group.
Thank you very much.
