Highly popular scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook is set to return to the small screen with her new drama titled, "The Glory". It has been reported, and subsequently confirmed by her agency, that actress Song Hye Kyo will be starring in the said drama. Filming for the drama will begin next year.
A JTBC official shared, "Plans for the new drama by Kim Eun Sook called 'The Glory' has been confirmed. Additionally, it has been confirmed that The Glory will be presented and available to viewers across the globe through streaming giant Netflix."
"The Glory" will tell the story of Song Hye Kyo's character waiting and wanting to take revenge on her bully from childhood by becoming the homeroom teacher of the bully's child. A revenge story, the drama is said to be different from scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook's past romantic genre dramas which catapulted her to fame. This is not the first time Kim Eun Sook and Song Hye Kyo worked together on a drama. In 2015, the massively famous SBS drama "Descendants of the Sun" was the first project they worked on together.
There have been reports saying that actor Lee Do Hyun is currently considering the male lead's role. His character is said to be the one who will aid Song Hye Kyo in her quest for revenge. If Lee Do Hyun does accept the male lead role, it will be his next drama right after he finishes filming his latest drama "Melancholia".
It has been reported earlier that Song Hye Kyo is one of the two highest-paid actresses in South Korea, raking in ₩200 million per episode for her latest series "Now, We are Breaking Up".
