The Melon Music Awards 2021, or more commonly known as MMA 2021, concluded on December 4 with IU taking home two (2) of the four (4) Daesang (Grand Prize) awards. The recently concluded awards show held pre-recorded performances and with a select number of audience. It was streamed live at 1TheK YouTube Channel.

Melon Music Awards award artists on the basis of Melon's user data, judges' scores, fan votes, and more. Melon is the largest music platform in South Korea.

The Nation's Little Sister IU won five (5) trophies, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. It was only the second time a female artist won Album of the Year in MMA. The first time it happened was in 2017, also with another IU album "Palette". She also won Top 10 award, Best Female Singer, and Best Songwriter Award.

BTS also won five (5) awards including Song of the Year with their record-breaking hit "Butter". aespa took home the "Record of the Year" award with their song "Next Level".
