The debut of the upcoming girl group Kep1er has been postponed.
In a statement released on December 5, Kep1er's agencies stated that a member of their staff who works with the group had tested positive for COVID-19 the day before. The result is that all of Kep1er's activities have been temporarily suspended.
Take a look at the statement from the agencies listed below:
Hello. This is a joint statement between Wake One Entertainment and Swing Entertainment.
We would like to inform you that our artist Kep1er, who was scheduled to make his debut on December 14th, has decided to postpone his promotional activities.
On the morning of December 4, one of the members of the Kep1er team who was accompanying him tested positive for COVID-19 infection. The artists were preemptively tested for COVID-19 as soon as a member of the staff displayed suspicious symptoms of an infection. They have all tested negative for the virus. As of right now, no symptoms of infection, such as fever or respiratory problems, are being displayed by the participants.
The COVID-19 test has been administered to all members of the affected staff, and there have been no additional confirmed cases as of yet. All of those who have not yet received their results have been placed in a confined space.
Due to the need to prioritize the health and safety of our members and employees, we have suspended all scheduled activities, and as a result, Kep1er's promotional schedule will unavoidably be pushed back. We would like to express our regrets to the fans who were looking forward to Kep1er's debut, as well as to the other members of the Kep1er team. We will make another announcement in the near future regarding the resumption of their operations and activities.
We will take all reasonable precautions to ensure that our artists and staff can work in the safest possible environment, and we will adhere strictly to the guidelines and protocols established by the health authorities. Thank you very much.
Girl group Kep1er was formed as a result of Mnet's audition program "Girls Planet 999." The group consists of nine members. This year's Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) will be held on December 11, with the group's official debut scheduled for the following day, on December 14.
