"Squid Game" actor Lee Jung Jae is nominated at the 2022 Critics' Choice Awards. The sensational Netflix survival drama series Squid Game has been nominated in three (3) categories at the awards show, including "Best Drama Series".
The nominations were announced by the Critics Choice Association in Tuesday. Netflix original "Squid Game" is nominated for Best Drama Series, Best Actor in Drama Series, and Best Foreign Language Series. The show will be competing with seven other series in the best drama series which includes Showtime's "Yellowjackets", HBO's "Succession", and NBC's "This Is Us".
As for the Best Actor in a Drama Series category, the actor is nominated alongside This Is Us' Sterling K. Brown, Succession's Brian Cox, This Is Us' Mike Colter, Pose's Bill Porter, and Succession's Jeremy Strong.
For the Best Foreign Language Series, Squid Game is among six (6) candidates which includes Mexican comedy "Acapulco", French thriller "Call My Agent!", Spanish crime show "Money Heist", and Mexican-American crime drama "Narcos: Mexico".
"Squid Game" is the first South Korean TV show to be nominated at the Critics' Choice Awards. Previously, in the 25th edition of the ceremony, Bong Joon Ho's juggernaut film "Parasite" won two titles, Best Director and Best Foreign Language Film.
The ceremony will be held on January 22, 2022.
